History
The WWII German ZF-41 Sniper Scope, Mount, and Case represent a key piece of wartime optical equipment utilized by the Wehrmacht. Produced by Feinmechanik G.m.g.H., this particular ZF-41 scope is mounted on a precision-engineered bracket marked “duv”, indicating manufacture by Berliner Luebecker Maschinenfabrik, a prominent German arms manufacturer.
Originally designed as a low-magnification sniper optic, the ZF-41 scope provided German infantrymen and sharpshooters with a modest but effective 1.5x magnification, aiding in target acquisition at medium ranges. The set includes the original steel mount, optimized for secure attachment to the Karabiner 98k rifle, and the accompanying carrying case, constructed from durable metal to protect the scope during transport and deployment.
Today, the ZF-41 sniper scope, complete with its factory-marked mount and carrying case, is a sought-after collectible, prized for its historical significance and craftsmanship. Collectors and military historians value such pieces as essential components of WWII German militaria, providing a tangible link to the tactical evolution of military optics during the conflict.
