   Paired this receiver with a new Green Mountain barrel. Once assembled, it cycled Fiocchi and Sellier & Bellot round-nose 7.65mm ammo flawlessly. The magazine well tolerances are spot-on—no wobble with the 10 or 20-round magazines.

   You can instantly feel the quality of the 4140 steel milled by Tortort. The lines are extremely clean, and the text engraving is very professional. It’s awesome to have an American-made receiver options available when Czech imports are so hard to find.

   The VZ61 is such a unique, vibey little firearm. Building it on this Southern Tactical receiver was incredibly satisfying. The finish matches the surplus blued upper remarkably well, giving it an awesome cohesive look.

   The fitment between the upper receiver hinge and this lower is incredibly snug—no slop or rattle whatsoever. This creates a rock-solid lockup which definitely helps with overall accuracy when target practicing at 25 yards.

   Everything from my surplus Czech parts kit dropped right onto this Southern Tactical receiver. Pin alignment for the upper was dead-on, and the trigger pack components snapped into place perfectly. Highly recommend if you want to bring an old kit back to life
