Original WWII German 7th SS Prinz Eugen Collar Tab
History
The 7th SS Volunteer Mountain Division “Prinz Eugen” was a German Waffen-SS division that was active during World War II. The division was named after Prince Eugene of Savoy, an 18th-century general from the Habsburg monarchy.
The collar tabs worn by the members of the 7th SS “Prinz Eugen” division featured the standard SS design. The tabs were rectangular in shape and typically made of black wool with silver-gray piping along the edges. They were worn on the collar of the SS uniform tunic, one on each side.
The primary identifying feature on the collar tabs was the unit’s numerical designation “7” in a stylized form, rendered in silver-gray thread. This number was positioned in the center of the collar tab.
